Press Release – Achievement Wales Winner scoops top UK Gold Award

Williams & Goodwin The Property People and Peter Alan Estate Agents who form part of the brand All Wales Auction have scooped the top gold award at the Sunday Times Estate Agency of the Year Awards for Best UK Auction Agency.

The brand who won the best newcomer award with the Daily Post Achievement Wales in 2009 has continued its growth over the past 2 years selling 4 out of 5 properties that enter its auction catalogues.

The judges commented on the vast knowledge and experience the company possesses in the auction discipline.  As a unique auction brand, and first national auction house in Wales, properties are marketed through 27 offices in Wales in addition to other independent estate agents who have also offered lots and sold through All Wales Auction brand.

Two auction sales are held every 9 weeks, one in South Wales and one in North Wales and All Wales Auction has an impressive set of statistics.

The judges also commented on the appearance of a slick, clean and efficient operation stating that the All Wales Auction business marries the best of modern methods with traditional values and the team deserves the gold award.

This recent success follows Williams & Goodwin The Property People’s previous 2008 Best UK Residential Auctioneer Award coupled with the team achieving gold award in Welsh Estate Agency 4 out of the last 6 years, together with Peter Alan’s latest achievement as winning gold as the Best Medium Estate Agency in Wales.

The awards took places at the Lancaster Gate Hotel in December.  Melfyn Williams, auctioneer commented;

“Williams & Goodwin teamed up to create the new All Wales Auction brand with Peter Alan at the end of 2008 following our success at the negotiator awards and are absolutely delighted and amazed with the results and response that we received from the public.  The support that both our estate agency and auction operation receives from the community is excellent.  The brand has developed well and the partnership between Williams & Goodwin and Peter Alan is nothing less than superb.  It is also encouraging to see that other independent estate agents are now entering properties into All Wales Auction confirming it is truly the property auctioneers of Wales.”

Williams added;

“Our customers are an important and integral everyday part of our business and in return this year, through conducting charity auctions & events we have assisted in raising approaching £25,000 back into the local community.  At our most recent charity auction that we arranged, we raised over £10,000 which will be distributed at an event following our February Auction at Llanfairpwll.”

Selling by auction is a fast and efficient way of achieving a sale by a deadline.  Usually properties are marketed for a period of 4-6 weeks before being sold under the hammer where an instant exchange of contracts is made.  For more details of selling with the property auctioneers of Wales and the UK gold winners Best UK Auction Agency, then contact in North Wales on 0845 087 1111 or South Wales 0800 905 905.  Entries are now being taken for the New Year auctions.

16 August 2010: ACHIEVEMENT WALES WINNER ALSO SHORTLISTED AS FINALIST IN THE LEADING UK ESTATE AGENCY OF THE YEAR AWARDS

All Wales Auctions has been shortlisted in the Newcomer of the Year category of The Negotiator Awards 2010, organised in association with The Digital Property Group, FindaProperty.com, Globrix.com and Primelocation.com.

The event is the leading nationwide estate agency awards scheme in the UK, and the trophies will be presented at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by TV and radio comedian Fred MacAulay, at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane on Wednesday 10 November.

The All Wales Auction was established in 2009, when South Wales estate agents, Peter Alan and North Wales estate agents, Williams & Goodwin The Property People joined forces to create the first auction house based in Wales that covers the whole of the country with twin auction sites in Cardiff and Bangor.

Over the past year, the All Wales Auction has enjoyed huge success, winning the Daily Post Achievement Wales award in December 2009 and with the most recent South Wales Auction, held in July, selling 91 per cent of the properties that went under the hammer.

Clare Bettelley, editor of The Negotiator, says: “We’ve had a terrific response this year, so All Wales Auctions has done brilliantly to get shortlisted, particularly when up against such an extensive list of outstanding firms in its field. Agents continue to face a challenging market, but this doesn’t seem to be enough to hold back their talent, entrepreneurialism and creativity”.

She added: “The Negotiator Awards were designed by the leading residential agency magazine, The Negotiator, to identify, reward and celebrate industry excellence and promote best practice, so we’re delighted to, once again, be able to organise and host a ceremony that continues to do just that.”

Both Peter Alan Estate Agents and The Property People have recently reported growth in house sales for the first half of 2010.

Andrew Barry, Sales Director at Peter Alan Estate Agents, said: “We are delighted that the All Wales Auction has been shortlisted for one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. We believe that the development of a national auction house for Wales has not only helped local Welsh people to buy and sell property through one catalogue, but also increased enquiries and success rates.”

All Wales Auctioneer, Melfyn N Williams added: “We are becoming known as The Property Auctioneers of Wales and are naturally excited at being recognised by the industry as one of the leading new brands in the UK. We have combined years of property auction experience with the marketing of the best estate agents in North & South Wales, coupled with superb commitment from our auction specialist teams, we trust anyone who is considering selling by auction will contact the All Wales auction team in either North or South Wales”

The next All Wales Auctions will be held on 7th and 12th October in North & South Wales.

The sponsors of the awards include Virgin Media, Endsleigh Let, The Property Jungle, The Digital Property Group, FindaProperty.com, Primelocation.com and Globrix.com.

""Having had no first hand experience of selling property by auction I didn't know what to expect. Nonetheless, I was very pleased with the outcome, the price achieved, no chain and, once the hammer went down, a guaranteed sale.

I would like to thank the Barry branch and the auction team for their support and reassurances that this was the right road to go down, which it certainly was in these difficult market conditions”

Mrs L from Penarth said about the All Wales Auction
